Fantastic day at Palms Elementary participating in Community Circles with our scholars! 🙌🏽 These circles are an important part of fostering a sense of community, where every student feels heard, valued, and connected. We're thrilled to announce our partnership with the City of Perris and our GROW Perris campaign. Together, we're building and bringing garden planter boxes to every school in our district. With the help of teachers, students (a big shout out to the Innovative Horizons students), principals, parents, District staff and family members, we're building these gardens to give our students hands-on experience in growing their own food, while learning about sustainable farming and the importance of taking care of our environment. This is more than just planting seeds, it's about cultivating knowledge, sharing responsibility, and growing a healthier future for our community together. Stay tuned for updates as we continue to GROW together! #PerrisGrows #GROWPerris #CommunityInAction #HealthyFuture #EveryoneLeads

After consulting with our local authorities, considering current and forecasted air quality, and working in coordination with our neighboring districts, all schools and after school programs in Perris Elementary School District will be OPEN tomorrow, Thursday, September 12, 2024. If your child has sensitive health requirements and you feel the need to keep them home, we encourage you to do what you feel is best. Missed school for medical reasons will be marked as an excused absence. We know that wildfires are unpredictable, and we will be monitoring the situation throughout the days to come. Thank you for your understanding and support. We look forward to welcoming everyone back tomorrow.

Due to the current air quality conditions resulting from the nearby Airport and Lion Fires, all schools in Perris Elementary School District will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, September 11, 2024. This also includes the cancellation of our ALL After School Programs tomorrow, Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
This decision is made out of an abundance of caution for the safety and well-being of our students, staff, community and first responders. We understand the impact this may have on our families and want to assure you that we will keep you informed as the situation develops. Our primary focus is the safety of our school communities. We will use Thrillshare/website (perrisesd.org) as our primary means of communication for updates. Please monitor your messages closely and ensure that your contact information in Thrillshare is up to date.
Thank you for your understanding and flexibility. Please stay safe.

The Perris Elementary School District is actively monitoring several nearby fires in the area. The potential impact of these fires is concerning to us, as we know it is to you. We will continue to monitor the Air Quality Index (AQI) for our schools and the surrounding areas. Please know we are taking all necessary precautions to safeguard the health of our students, which includes limiting outdoor activities. Should it become necessary to close any of our schools, we will provide notification by 6:00 AM tomorrow, September 10th. Please stay tuned for further updates.

☀️ The weather may be HOT, but the learning is even HOTTER at Perris ESD! 🔥 🏫📚
Our students are staying cool while diving into their lessons daily, showing incredible focus and determination. From math problems to science projects, they’re tackling it all with a smile—because at PESD, we’re committed to making every day a day of discovery and growth!
Keep up the great work, Perris students! You’re making us proud 💪✨

Schools Open Today 9.9.24
All schools will be open and starting on time today. All power has been restored to our schools. Please be safe on your drive to school as many roads have been impacted by the severe weather.

A powerful summer of learning and connection. This summer, over 500 of our incredible staff members came together to deepen our understanding of our new initiatives specifically designed to support teacher and staff practice and enhance student success. We gained clarity, built connections and coherence, and united as a community of learners and leaders. Together we are making a difference for our community, for our students, for our future. 💪🔔❤️ #PerrisESD #CommunityOfLearners #TogetherWeGrow #EveryoneSucceeds

The Perris Elementary School District values staff and student safety. As of 11:00pm last night, Cal Fire reported that all forward progress of the fire has been stopped and evacuation orders downgraded to warnings. We have been and will continue to monitor air quality related to the Post Fire using the Air Quality Index (AQI). With the current AQI level being under 50, all PESD schools will be open today, September 5, 2024, with no disruption to school business. We will continue to monitor air quality and any additional impacts from the Post Fire in our area throughout the day. The Care and Reception Center operated by the American Red Cross at Pinacate Middle School will remain open. Although the facility has not yet been used by community members, it is available if needed.

Attention PESD Staff and Families:
As you may be aware, the Post Fire is currently active in the City of Perris within the area of Good Hope. The Emergency Management Department (EMD) and American Red Cross have established a Care and Reception Center at Pinacate Middle School that will function as an overnight shelter.
Evacuation orders and warnings have been issued within some areas of PESD boundaries. Evacuation zones can be searched here: https://tinyurl.com/3avuduj7
Perris Elementary School District will continue to monitor both the fire conditions and air quality in the area. At this time, we plan for school to operate as usual tomorrow. However, we will provide an update regarding school operations tomorrow around 6:00 a.m.
