SEL superpowers take center stage at Palms! What an incredible day of sharing and collaboration at Palms Elementary school where the team showcased our well-being and belonging initiatives and the integration of our SEL superpowers with 10 visiting school districts from around the county. Our visitors got a firsthand look at how Palms Elementary is embedding belonging and well-being into daily school culture with community agreements and setting the positive learning intentions for the day, with community circles by bringing student stories and well-being to the forefront of community building, the use of our Sown To Grow digital platform which allows for our students to build self awareness around their emotions and the why behind them, and watching our phenomenal teachers and staff actively teach into our SEL superpowers. Just an absolutely amazing day and even more amazing staff at Palms Elementary for an incredible display of dedication to our students well-being and belonging! Good Hope Elementary is Rolling! We are absolutely thrilled to have Good Hope elementary present at last weeks PESD school board meeting about their fantastic all kids bike program for kindergartners! This amazing initiative is supporting all of our kindergarten students at Good Hope with the foundational skills they need to ride a bike safely. Beyond just learning to pedal, the program is helping our five-year-olds develop crucial skills like balancing, coordination and control, spatial awareness, confidence, and self reliance, and following directions and safety rules. Kudos to the entire Good Hope team for fostering the love of movement and building these essential developmental skills in our youngest of learners. Way to go Good Hope! #PSD #GoodHopeElementary #AllKidsBike #Kindergarten #EveryoneLeads.

🌟 November’s SEL Superpower: Empathy 🌟

This month, Perris Elementary students are learning about empathy, the power to understand and share the feelings of others. Through songs, stories, and activities, they’re discovering how kind words and caring choices build belonging and strengthen friendships.

Families can nurture empathy at home by asking questions like, “How do you think they felt?” or “What can we do to help?”

This week, students from across PESD will take center stage during Student-Led Conferences, sharing their progress, goals, and areas for growth with their families.

These conferences help build confidence and self-advocacy, one of our district’s six SEL Superpowers, and bring the Perris Promise to life. Students are proud to share their learning, and families leave inspired by their child’s leadership, growth, and voice in their education.

📅 Reminder: There is no school for students on Friday, November 21.

Please look out for more information from your school about conference times and details.

🎉 Upgrades That Put Students First This summer, PESD made important upgrades across our campuses to ensure every student feels safe, welcome, and included. ✨ New shade structures, walking paths, and fresh paint create inviting spaces. ✨ Privacy fencing and solar-reduction asphalt keep our schools safe and cool. ✨ Innovative Horizons now has a new gym audio system for assemblies and performances. ✨ At Enchanted Hills, construction is underway on an ADA-compliant ramp and retaining wall so all students can safely enjoy outdoor play. These improvements reflect what our families and schools told us they needed most: safe, welcoming campuses where Everybody Belongs, Everybody Succeeds, Everybody Leads. 🌟 #PerrisPromise #EverybodyBelongs #PESD

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the All Kids Bike program that occurred on September 5 at Good Hope elementary school in partnership with Yamaha. Our entire kindergarten class will be participating in this exciting program learning how to ride a bike safely and confidently this is about fun and building a foundation for lifelong skills and growth. Learning to ride a bike at this age offers incredible benefits in their physical development by enhancing balance, coordination, and core strength, and their cognitive growth by improving focus, patience, and problem-solving skills, benefiting their social emotional awareness and fostering a I can do it attitude, boosting independence, and building confidence. Safety awareness is of the utmost importance and students will learn about protective gear and following rules. This program will instill lifelong skills with the love for riding through exploration as a healthy activity that lasts a lifetime. Every year, our Good Hope kindergarten students will embark on this amazing opportunity. #GoodHopeElementary #AllKidsBike #Kindergarten #LearnToRide #CommunityLove #BikeLife #PESD #EveryoneSucceeds.
