Hello Railway Families, Here are some friendly reminders that you can do to help keep children safe: Slowing down: Obey speed limits, especially in school zones, where they are there for a reason. Stopping for school buses: When a school bus is stopped, you must stop and wait for children to get on or off. Yielding to pedestrians: Yield to pedestrians at crosswalks, especially near schools and bus stops. Don't block crosswalks when stopped at a red light or waiting to turn. Avoiding distractions: Avoid distractions, especially your cell phone. Being aware of your surroundings: Keep an eye out for children on bikes and pedestrians. Following school crossing guard instructions: Always follow the instructions of a school crossing guard. Not passing stopped vehicles: Never pass a vehicle that is stopped for pedestrians. Not using handicap or emergency lanes: If you're dropping off children at school, don't use handicap or emergency lanes unless you're licensed to do so. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks for an incredible first day of school! Our students were stellar learners, reconnected with friends, and had an awesome experience connecting with our staff. We’re excited to build on this great start and are looking forward to a fantastic year ahead. A couple of important reminders: Morning Drop-Off: Tomorrow morning, students will be dropped off in the MPR. Our staff will be there to support the transition for all students. Please note that no parents will be permitted to enter the MPR. Parking Lot Safety: Please drive slowly and safely through our parking lots. The safety of our students is our number one priority, and we want to ensure that every effort is made to keep them safe. Dismissal Procedures: Kinder students in Mrs. Robinson and Mrs. Mihalochick’s classes will be dismissed through the MPR. Mrs. Daken, Mrs. Flynn-Everett, and Mrs. Gervacio’s classes will be picked up at the Kinder gate. 2nd grade students will be picked up at Gate 2. 3rd-6th grade students will be picked up from Gate 3. Please help us keep the line of cars moving smoothly by pulling all the way up to the crosswalk by the kindergarten playground. Our staff will be present to assist students in getting to their vehicles. Remember, there is no parking in the exit of the parking loop and no parking in the bus lane. Thank you for your continued cooperation and support. We’re thrilled to be partnering with you for another wonderful school year!
